Off To Northern Ireland Trout & Salmon fishing

Thats me all packed up for a week in Northern Ireland - Holiday ,drink and fishing


i know where i am trout fishing but have never Salmon fished , but going to give it a go from my mother in laws back garden ,that has the River Bush at the bottom of it ,so heres hoping

one of the trees is gone (Oh dear ,what a shame) - and if i get my way the rest are coming down while i am there - so next year ,if/when you borrow the hoose ,at least you will be able to hoy a long line out ha ha

Best of luck mate. I believe over here we need a £66 licence to fish for migratory fish such as sea trout and salmon.
In Scotland you do not need this licence.
What about Ireland.?

Hi Mick, Bri will be enjoying his hols by now, but to help answer your question. I paid £16 in april for a single game rod licence which is valid anywhere in N/I except londonderry and carlingford areas. For those areas a licence can be obtained from the Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission.

Cheers Stickler - Advice taken on board - i asked about fishing the bush and was told that i needed a "local minestry" licence ,£60 then a day permit for the River Bush ,£45 - Fook that when i have a trout and migratry fish licence for the UK (Northern Ireland was in UK the last time i checked)


so on my last day i asked someone who was checking permits and found out that i was ok to fish the River Bush with my UK licence and a day permit of £36 per day - as long as i fished the "Town Stretch" which is where i have seen most fish caught from ,and is in my mother in laws back garden



SORTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i also got a few trout while fishing a local flooded quarry ,which was great ,but it is now on the list of fishing places in the local area- which will also annoy Sless ,cos we found this place about 4 yrs ago and it was always very quiet - well only us to be honest - but he has put signs all over the area and is really busy ,Hey Good Luck to William - he asked about how i would like to see it updated (Eh ???- i am no trout fishery arcitect !!) as he was getting a huge grant from the local council - i said a few wooden piers would bring in disabled anglers and also enable you you to fish in VERY deep waters next to the cliff wall - Heres Hoping
