Well at last, after a few trips out marking wrecks again and messing around with the new gear it was time for the first trip out on the new boat and with a light wind, smooth sea and sun, a day with no fish would have still been good.

Set out with my mam and dad onboard today with the plan of hitting a few wrecks when we had wind v tide then when it turned head up north and do the rough ground and the plan worked.

We headed out the piers

Long story short, only one mark we stopped at did not produce a fish, seems alot of codling around the 1-3lb mark, even getting them two at time on one mark.

and again next mark :)

and then my earliest ever ling, a boot strap :)

We all had a good day and if we wanted to we could of filled the fish well with codling but decided to put everything back today even the keepers.

The wind started to get up so we headed back in and looking forward to the morning and round two, thou that wind may make it a bit harder as the drift on the rough ground was canny for long spells.

A New Record Earliest Caught Ling BUTWe Have Seen Smaller From You Richy, You Just Mustn't Of Been Trying. I'll See What I Can Do Tomorrow In Between Sleeps Oh! And Cooking (NOT) It Aint Got Galley Slave Printed On Me Top.

Is this the ling you are talking about Graham? :) i have tried to block that one out my memory :)

Yer it could be the start, wrecks and rough ground holding fish and taken unbaited lures is always a good sign...its all on the weather again.

Good to see a report with fish again. Won't be long until the doubles are hitting the deck.

I can see Graham having a cushion made for those seats :D

Good report and result Rich, and well done putting them all back. This is the first day of the next few years in "on a roll":D

Great to see fish being caught .. Currently watching watching a couple boats fishing around St Mary's and the yellow bouy .... We fished around there in a charter only two fish on board all day, one of which was mine a tiny cod.... Hope the ling continue to be caught

I feel the anglers of NESA deserve the Truth about this photograph and that it was taken using a Super, Super Macro Lense:D:D:D:D
