Get-a-map from Ordnance Survey

About time too - google maps is OK but the detail for south west Scotland has always been rubbish...prob something to do with Nuclear Subs I'm guessing

There are MUCH better versions than the OS website. Try Streetmap - Homepage and Worldwide map search, route finder and travel directions - powered by Multimap

They both give OS mapping down to 1:25000 scale, the screen is bigger than get-a-map and doesn't run so slow.

you're right that first link of yours is much better - I only stumbled across the link I gave when I was looking to buy a paper O/S map of the Kirkcudbright area
