Other Lures, Jigs and Pirks?

right ive bought some orange squid lures, and some other lures which i will have to put together on hooks and traces,

im gonna be buying 10oz pirks and some heavy weights,

what other lures or jigs could i get that would work?

Me personally i would use a single pirk either fast drop or norweigan type on a 4 foot nylon trace (60lb) connected to a 2 way large swivel straight on to my braid and thats it !! great for catching big cod or any cod !


But if its ling i use a long flowing trace 60lb line 4foot long with a 8/0 or bigger hook of your choice but i use a o`shaugnessy pattern baited up with a fillet of mac sliced down in two straight down the back bone (one drift a silver side and the next a blue side) and its as easy as that ...........if your with the right skipper and your near the wreck then this is the dogs doo daa`s !! has been known to catch a few double figured fish (but dont tell Sixfoot Steve)

Good things come to those who are prepared to try these tactics
Believe me ..... it may take a few trips or more but it certainly works for us !!

We were just saying on saturday, why do people spend a fortune on lures etc that look like fish when you can just stick a real one down there.

Most size ling have got gobs that'll swallow a 10/0 so why not, and you might even hook a bonus species, (like a glove)
