Well the end of an era, the local theatre closed on Saturday and we are in the process of clearing out.

Sad times. the building started life as the West End Baths, then after being used as an army billet during the war it became a theatre in 1947. I first performed on the stage in 1976, but eventually realised my talents lay elsewhere. :red:

The entire lifetime of 21 years of my youth theatre Kayos is in that building, from our first musical "Dracula Spectacula" in 1992 to "Our House" back in March.

Last night the volunteer crew had a get together on the stage for the last time ever - sad times indeed.

Looking at the number of bald heads/grey hair and beer bellies, you wonder if the cast could maybe doing with freshening up a bit!

Anyway, onwards and upwards. We get the new building on Friday and our next show is Les Miserables in March. Time to create some new history I suppose.

The new building from the outside, just waiting for the certificates before moving in.

time and tide wait for no man :(

onwards and upwards mark, stepping from what would appear to have been a roaring success onto new ground:exclam::exclam:

challenges will be overcome, and the new building will do you proud im sure:)

Yes Duncan, exciting times, just very emotional after last night...........I am just an old ham at heart!

35 years of my life being bulldozed for an Asda!

Lynn of course, being the sensible one, is crazy looking forward to the new venue, she can't wait. The woman hasn't got a nostalgic bone in her body!

Anyway when we see it on Friday I am sure I will get incredibly excited about the new place. Will get some new photos up then.

If anyone may be interested that is, I keep forgetting it's a fishing forum!! :red:
