First trip out of the season with Norbert @ 2pm

Nice afternoon, a few boats were out and fishing inshore so we chose the wrecks to stretch our legs.

4 wrecks in total but only one produced, on Rhubarb shads a couple of Pollock.

We tried bait but fishies were not interested.

Good thing was that one the Pollock was a nice 9lb 2oz, a really good fat fish.

On another note, my GPS is now in German, in metres depth. Does that mean he broke it? :)

Nice pollack, not mnay that size off our shore, so far it has been the best start to season both fish and weather wise that i can remember, the fishing has been unreal some days...long may that continue

Ref maximus, the 20-40 was underpowered for a 12oz lead plus bait but felt nice with 8oz/10oz.

Worringly, when snagged and pulling it was making that sort of crunching "I'm gonna snap soon sound". probably user error lol

Cheers! We've got just the bloke for destructive testing of new rods :D

i tested both, the10-20 and 20-40

first, I think the 20-40 should have been labelled 10-20

the thin one is not usable on the wrecks, but nice on a shad in 15m water and an 8oz lead

the 10-20 is very nice on the wrecks for shadding...

heavy bait and 1lb sinker....catching big ling in 50y water....if you like rods that bend a lot....
