Well sorry for the delay in the catch report after like Norman watching the weather close over the past days made the call to firstly dig lugworm yesterday and to judge the forcast later last night decided it was worth a try so called Mick (Casper71) to organise the cabin boy shame i don't have a cabin:D.

We were down newbiggin for 9am and had abit of a job to launch in the bloody southerly swell rolling in but got there and headed to a usual haunt of 1 mile off beacons and the drift was a little fast to say the least so anchored up with a long warp to allow good steady hold.

After seeing the Canmans report from the other week decided to go with straight Lugworm which worked first for me with a fish of 3lb then mick with a one 1.75lb then another 5 between that and 2lb ish mick did get another but I made a bulls lug og lifting it in the boat sorry Mick!

The swell was steady and dropping but sunny day with the rain on land nice to be in the right place all the fish were grey fresh run codling so I think this marks the start of the run:)

Until nextime;)
