fished s/shields yesterday paul from stanley managed to hooked himself on the inside of his nose it brought tears to our eyes but he managed to pull it out after that we managed to stop laughing .this morning i was sorting out my box i managed to stick a kamasan hook in my finger i pulled and tugged but it would not come out so of to the walk-in they said it would have to be x-rayed after x ray they numbed my digit then tried to cut the hook with no avail i said if you hold the hook with forcepts to keep it steady you could wiggle it back and forwards it would snap so they tried that after a while it snapped they pulled it out but im left with a hole in my digit you could pass a 5oz sinker through whats that saying those who laugh last

It brought tears to my eyes just reading this, make sure you keep it clean, I once got an infection in a similar injury, told the doctor I caused it fishing, he said infect was possibily caused from bait juices.

Nightmare m8,been there and done that.Once got a hook through my lip on shields pier pmsl.hospital job for me too.

next time (youv'e got to be lucky doing it twice) try cutting the eye end off the hook, either with pliers or side cutters. Grit your teeth and pull the barbed end out of your skin.

Poor show dave, yor the last person i'd expect to do that:p

Mind u, at least it wasnt in yor nose, paul looked like a chinese man with him squintin in pain, fortunetly the hook came out:)

Knowing u mate a dont think this will effect yor fishing:D

I did that a few years ago with a fly hook on my little finger. Could not remove it so went to Alston hospital (closest at the time) for help. They then had to numb the finger by kneeling on my arm and inserting a 2" needle in the tip and pushed it all in and slowly pulled it out while administering the anastetic. :o

After that it was OK :p.

Just as well you did not go to casualty at Durham-you,ve have had at least a five hour wait the way things have been lately. Everytime we go in the place is packed out. think they are having trouble coping.
