Over the last couple of weeks I have been having a few problems with my PC.
A friend told me it may be overheating and suggested I improve the cooling of the PC.
This may be because we have put the central heating on at last
So I found this website that suggested the best way to cool a PC was water cooling so I have tried to set this up.
Initially I put the water into an empty drive bay but no matter how fast I poored it in it just ran out of the botom. (and caused havoc with the laminate flooring but Mikes carpets are sending a guy round to see if the damage is covered under warranty so that should not be a problem)
I have now sealed all the joints and gaps in the case and instead of using a jug have used a hosepipe.
This has lead to a couple of extra problems.
First is that the water when it reaches a certain level just poors out of the dvd drive slot. Does anyone know a manufacturer of waterproof dvd drives as its impractical to seal up the tray with silicon.
Secondly, what is the optimum water level for effective cooling. I have it about half way up and if this is far enough I would not need the new dvd drive if I put a Middlesborough yellow pages under the front edge of the case. This also does a good job of soaking up the slight leakage around the power switch, although I am hoping to cure this tomorrow by applying some duck tape over the switch.
