Just wondered if any peeps from other area\'s have collected any peelers yet,bit early around the North East,i think they get them all year round down in Devon and Cornwall.
Blackvelvet with reference to Monkies i checked your profile and noticed your a Blyth lass, never here many people call it that now lol.I\'ll have to watch out for you next time i\'am down there.Do you fish local as well ?
Yeah!!!! of course, you will have seen me digging bait down at monkies no doubt, or collecting mussel, live in Blyth but Scottish, does that ring a bell??????? probably bumped into you on the pier at some time or other.

Blackvelvet the place Mark collected the crabs is the westerley most part of the British mainland so the water temp will be higher than other areas.
The Clyde will start producing peelers come the start of May as we have not had enough warm weather as of yet. I was down on the mudflats on Wednesday and there was no sign of any peelers.
oh well shall visit mother in May cheers for the info I was going to go up this week, shall just have to be patient. usually bring back lug and rag as well as crab, plus do a wee bit fishing on Loch Long but never get much there except mackerel. Wild mink around the shore there makes it fun to watch them, friendly little things swipe the mackerel off your hook .Blackvelvet
REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you two lads must come from the same place.I just spoke to a lad who had just finished cleaning out his tyres and all he had was two and he has mountains of tyres.
Tyre searching is too much like hard work lol lol lol so yours will be safe.

I have my tyres at heburn marina. If your mate has tyres next to the mouth of the river it takes longer for the crab to come in at the start of the season but they stay in longer at the end of the craben season down next to the mouth of the river.
Our kid stays in Gasgow so a Clyde peeler session is looking attractive, anyone want to post or PM me some info on likey spots, it would be most appreciated.
Also got the chance to put some traps out roundabout Southwick on the Wear anyone know how they\'ll do?
Ell, I used to put traps along Southwick years ago. Like Billy said, the crab are good size. The only problem being there were a lot of ****holes around then who had great pleasure in trashing your traps when you\'d gone.
