If it's been fully defrosted I wouldn't bother - but if, like happened to me the other night, you've got a few that are still well crunchy because it was so cold they wouldn't defrost, then I would just pop them back in the flask then freezer no problem.
Your best bait will be to get a littlee bait flask mate, instead of defrosting in bulk and wasting them
Just take a few out every now and again to stop the lot defrosting
for a pound odd per crab id still use em if they had a tree made out of mould growing out of em. dont know if it applies to crab but rotten bait has always outfished fresh for me
Like said mate hoy them in a flask and take out as necessary. A good quality flask will keep them semi frozen at the end of a good sesh especially in winter. If you use a cheepo £5 one (like me) then the bait will thaw out after a few hours and quicker in summer. Also putting the flask in the freezer before you fill up with crabs helps too.
If you refreeze after thawing it's OK IMO and when using it it will honk big style but I've had some of me best fish with the stuff.

i remember a few years ago when i got home from fishing i took the lid off my flask but forgot to put the crabs in the freezer. when i fished a few days later, my flask was full of disgusting stinking mushy crabs. i caught 4 codling on them. so i definitely wouldn't bin them!
