penn 515 mag 2 problem

ive had the reel just over a year and recently it started to scream when i cast i have had it looked at by two diffrent people and both said carnt find a problem with it could it be the bearings


any help much appreciated

you would think its the bearings.

i had the same problem on one of my 525's , changed the bearings, properly.
and it still screams.

im gonna take it to nets to see if they can do anything hopefully they can if not im gonna have to get another reel hopefully not a one with the same problem

One of my 525mags howls if there's a little too much side play with the spool. Don't know why it does it as all the bearings, spool and spindle are all fine so can only assume there maybe a little too much vibration going on when theres a tad too much side play.

Have you had the pinion gear looked at? Could be worth getting it checked out

Had exactly the same problem changed bearings cleaned the reel out still screams . if you ever discover the cause let is know.
