I was just getting the gear sorted for a sesh tomorrow and opened a new box of 2/0's to gear up with but got a bit of a surprise :


I didn't know there was ganna be a pennel rig hoyed in for a freebee

I've used a set up like this using live sandeel, hook them with the bottom hook, and the hook on the shank sits up or down to them... so hook well clear of the bait for the fish to take...

only had a coalie on it mind... one of the biggest i've seen on shields pier though

Well I'm thinking of posting it directly back to the manufacturer together with the box they came in, this is so their QC department can investigate the root cause and put control measures in place to prevent reoccurence. And I don't want a big box of hooks back off of them for compo.

hi gordon have had hooks like that before but only when a have bought cheepies never with good quality loil

It looks like a gang hook to me, use them in the states for bass.
