dont hold your hopes out for anything big, if your roving and fishing low water try the rock channel to the left of perch rock, some small thorns and plaice been comming out, can be a good smoothie mark, town hall steps will prob only produce dabs and small undersize whiting, could be worth checking this out for info http://www.wirralseafishing.co.uk/cs/reports/Northwestreportmap.php
and also here http://www.wirralseafishing.co.uk/forum/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=57
if totally roving then another mark that can produce on high is harrison drive, at the new brighton end is the clown roundabout, carry on towards new brighton and you should see a small boating lake, on the wall side of that is a place called the double slip, get there early or have someone camp out on it as its popular, most baits work but always worth tipping with a bit of mack, the run in the river and in the mouth can be quite fast so be prepared to use 6/7 oz when it is, dead high and dead low usually dont fish that well, better with some movement, at perch rock theres a long groin been built out to the left, that does carry some small conger, all places are worth a recce at low water if you have time to do so, low at vale park can produce but theres a gully to cross and you can get cut off, quite snaggy at high water, watch were you park if fishing the river, if you park on the prom your going to either get moved on or a nice parking ticket from the jobs worths, parking away from the prom dont leave valueables in sight in the car
