Hi Lads,
with the weather window Thursday, Phantom 1 set sail at 6 with 3 very excited Fisherfolk mates. we headed for the wrecks out of Hartlepool with a bit of hope but with a bit of "i hope its better than last Saturday " (16 fish that day)....

I have just ahd a double hernia op so a rod in my hand is out of the question, so i'm just driving the boat.....and did i end up sick as a parrot....

got on the first wreck and 2 lads landed lovely Pollock to 7 & 8 lb, well that got the tempo up, the crack was mint, and have you ever tried to watch a bloke tie a shad on with pure shakin verocity, fcukin eyes rolling backover with excitement.

anyhow, we had a couple of drifts with more pollock, with the bigesst fish of the day to Ron of 10lb 11oz. fishing slowed and dropped off so we moved further off to

16 mile, where we had a few cod to 6lb, slow fishing, grey skies drizzle and the sea was chopping up with a swell, so a bit of a rock on... as the tide was slack we headed off to

22mile mark, as soon as we got on all 3 were straight into fish, so that got them up again and yes the eyes were rolling backover............ and shaking...bl00dy hell.
some nice cod showing but not massive, the stamp of fish were 6-8lb with a few smaller and the biggest of the day being around 9lb.

all in all the lads were chuffed and relieved that the fish were there.
shads all day no prticular colour, although white/pearl may have the edge.
all fish spewing sprat up
3 rods
45 Fish boated with about 6 lip hooked and returned, 51 / 52 fish in all
2 ling
8 Pollock
35 cod

1 sick skipper
3 stone of lead lighter
a 16 mile wreck lit up like a fcukin xmas tree it took so much gear
3 bags half a stone lighter of gear

and i can always say i lost no gear, but was i sick as a parrot not beingg able to show them how to gan on and blow the t!ts off them......!!!!!.....INCOMING....Ha

If there is a good way to be sick as a parrot this must surely be the way;)
I had a hernia op two days before christmas , I'm back to normal now apart from the geet red scar  , it takes a while so don't chance anything, i've heard of a lot of blokes having to go back in after lifting stuff too soon.
Great to see the fish are there , just need a bit of better weather and the catch report page will be brimming over again :)
