pier opening times?

Could someone tell me what time Shields and Roker pier open in the mornings ?

No mate, providing the waves arn't crashing over. I've only ever been chucked off once.

Not hard put your rod through the gate I go down on the beach side just use the fence to get down once you get your box on the wall just pull your self up you'l see what Mean when you get there

Pier should open at 7-7:30 am no they dont say anything if your on before you dont have to climb anywhere either you can walk around with ease as already mentioned

roker pier gates shud be open all night and day sea is flat

I agree no problem getting round the gate on Shields Pier so long as you go round the South (beach) side. Just walk round the rocks. The gate man even opened the gate for me and my mate last week to get off. He told me they just shut the gates to keep the kids off in case of an accident.

Shields Pier gate is opened at 7.30am but you can easily climb around the gate if you get there earlier.
