Pier this Sunday

Just to let members of NESA know that we have been in touch with the harbour master and he has allowed anglers who want to fish the south pier this sunday in the Shields Open, by opening the gate at 8am to let the anglers through (Weather Permitting). As the chairman of the club (Joe Macdonald) has been in touch with the harbour master and he has said, he would allow us to fish the open comp and the pier is only open to anglers and not the general public. We would like to thank the harbour master (Mike Nicholson) on behalf of the South Shields club.

Well thats a start. It's all down to the weather now to decide the opening of the pier.

Cheers for the info keith mate, and thank you the Harbour Master for allowing this great venue to be fished in the open. :)

Yes, good news, but why just for anglers wanting to fish the open, why not any angler?
Is it still being closed because of the railing painting saga and needing to let the paint dry? If it is then it's a flippin joke.

might be something to do with public liability insurance and that by entering the comp you are covered in some way, just a guess though
