had a run on the pilot pier at hartlepool today, when i got there, there was a couple of lads fishing, they said they hadnt had a bite so it looked bleak,
a few more lad turned up and still not a fish between 6 fishing,
after 3 hours i had one last cast, got my 1st bite, and pulled a flatty in, so at least i never blanked,

Looks big enough to eat, and probably one of the reasons people enjoy fishing.

exactly, thought that was the main reason to go fishing to put food on the table, anyone wants to keep a sized fish for the table regardless of species, fine by me.....and well done on catching Jeff

cheers, i was targeting flatties, on the bottom hook, it was easy of size, thats a big plate, when im out on the kayak i put 2lb plus codling back, only ever bring home what i can eat,

It's your catch mate, you do what you want with it. Nowt worse on forums than anglers having a go at other anglers for keeping legally sized fish. And for what it is worth there is no legal minimum size for Flounder in the NE IFCA area anyway:

Minimum Landing Sizes
