:question:Dunno if youve ever discused them, but what are your views on bait clips the ones you can buy from all tackle dealers

how many of you use them ?

and how many dont ?

and do you think there worth the money ?

i use them some times on clean beaches but not very often as i think, that its just extra cost to your trace setup when you loose it,and it aint cheap a trace setup when you work out the price to buy already made or to make.

used them loads ,but prefer all my rigs to be pulley rigs ,so started using "canny links" and have never looked back

YouTube - Cannylinks instructions

other rotten bottom type things are also available - but these do the trick for me - rotten bottom, and also hook clip

Yep cannylinks are great ,you can pm Paul ( hiram.a.biff ) who makes a them ,he'll sort you out . I still use impact bait shields for softer baits sometimes though .

yea seen the canny link on ebay before the do look like there good, but was on about them black ones with the inpact shield

These work well when you don't need a rotter. haven't tried Pauls I've still got a load of those A level geometry things left

A decent sized sequin used as a bait stop acts like an impact shield a bit. A well presented and cast bait does not need a crash helmet. It's gonna die anyway, wether it's through drowning, boredom or getting eaten by a fish or Alan Charlton

That thing has got to take the biscuit for daft as owt gizzmagog

My mate geordie's mate laughs at me and says just use rubbish line and tie a few knots in it, to connect to the lead end, it'll break easy and all you'll have lost is your lead. I think you can see where this one's going health and safety wise

Vamp, I would be pretty much the same as you mate. I use them only very occasionally on a clean beach and would never think of using them on the rocks. Not so much for the cost though, as they are just another thing to get snagged and lose you either more gear or possibly a fish.

Jim.
