When can you start targating them and wers the best local place to go.

not sure when they turn up in numbers but over the last couple of years there's been some belters from south shields pier.

Only 2 locations i have caught pollack from on our coast (shore anyway) rocks at the gun pits of Marsden and the main one is South Shields pier.

Last yera i had 37 pollack from the pier fro 6" smallest and 5lb 7 oz the biggest, most caught on redgills, spinners and the bigger ones fell to float fished mackerel or free flowing mackerel strip.

1st light best from the pier for two reasons...1 less people bashing mackerel and 2 had more luck am time.
