problem with 525

the release arm on my 525 seems to be jammed. ive opened the reel up but cant see a reason why so im wondering if anybody has come across this before and could give me a bit advice.

drop it in at your local tackle shops it probably wont cost much to fix

Im not having probs with the release arm its the brakes i sent mine to penn in scotland to get fixed and now it is in the tackle shop again for more brakes its only costing me a fiver

the problem you are having with the release arm is due to either the centre bearing being seized or the main pinion gear worn or both.
easy repair replace centre bearing cost probs no more than £7.
if problem still persists replace pinion gear,direct from penn spares £8.50 approx.
as with all penn reels they are a pleasure to strip/repair/service.
hope this helps.
as for the other guy about brakes i take it they are fallen out of there holders,or are they not working correctly.
1st point, put a dab of glue on the plastic to secure the magnetic brakes.
2nd it may not be the brakes at fault but actually the spool worn,have a look to see if it is groved on the brake side.

Andy. When you do get it fixed try using it a bit more . Not surprised its seized up its never been out your tackle box since NvS last year!!!!!!!!!!l LoL.

now now steve any reel which has wound in as many double figure fish as this was bound to fail eventually
