what kind of fish would u expect to catch from the qe 2 at ashington and can u get a one day rod liscense like a day ticket or do u have to by a years rod liscence and bye just a day ticket any help would be appreciated as im gonna have ago for the first time this year thanks from graham !!

pretty certain you can get a day ticket from hotel,but i think you still need a rod licence for a yearYou can get a rod licence for a day from the post office, I think it's £3.50
Would also be interested in hearing what the pike fishing is like here?

Hi mate, you can fish the Qe2 on a day rod licence but you also need a day ticket. Daytickets are £4 from the tackle shop in ashington. Rodlicences are £3.50 from the post office. The lake holds a good number of large pike (the record has just been broken last weekend at 27.5lb), Good carp to 25lb and plenty of the coarse species, with bream up to 10lb. This time of year your better off just targeting the pike. The qe2 is a very hard lake to fish at the best of times and conditions need to be perfect. A light s/w wind and overcast is probably the ideal. Hope this helps
