Funnily enough I was just thinking .....I remember the warehouse at the other side of the Quayside ( waterline for you non newcastle old guys lol ) bursting into flames before being changed into apartments, structurally sound as I\'m sure the Bonded Warehouse will be...an unusual co incidence eh !
Sorry if I seem cynical.

Or the one in N/Shields at the bottem of the hill that was some sort of grade one listed warehouse before it burned down (appartments now suprise suprise) or am I being sceptical too ?

It seems to be the norm now where a beautiful old historic building is up for grabs and English heritage have put a listing on it. I say they should list the land and any developer must restore the original building. They\'d still make a profit but they\'d have to build it with real materials like wood and masonary instead of fancy cladding and plasterboard.

Just off Norham road in N/Shields they,ve just torn down a beautiful brick building that used to belong to the council. All the openings were bridged by precision cut camber arches and the brickwork was a work of art. It makes me cry when I see what lengths some t***ts will go to in their lust for profit

third time that one been up in flames, Each fire hasn\'t quite done enough damage to enable developers to over come the preservation order - funny that

Looks like they done the biz this time tho\'. I predict a steel frame and another yuppie warren of dickheads that will pay £150 000 + for a parking space for the Shogun Sport.

I worked on the old brick building in Waterloo st N/cle that is now the Centerloft developement. All they kept was the facade and I wonder how many of the wise men who paid upwards of £200 000 know that they are seperated from their neighbours by 3 layers of plasterboard. One burglar with a stanley knife could get through them all in half an hour

Na Steve, their back doors are open all day long if a tramp or someone wants to enter 3 layers of plasterboard wont stop em lol. It looks like Joe Public has took the shaggin\' again when the prime real estate is auctioned at the shakey hand gaff. Plasterboard appartments are the way foerward it seems
