been having a look round the forum the last couple of days and noticed some quite heated debates re peelers v eaters and fish sizes
so

what is the legal size for a fish ? does it vary from spieces to spieces

why cant you use eating crab as bait ?,isnt a crab a crab

oh and how far upriver can you fish before a rod licence is required ?

side note caught my first codling of the year last night ,north side of blyth from the wooden jetti things,it was that small i didnt know it was there till i reeled in :D still a fish is a fish i gave it my phone number returned it after asking it to call once it had gained a few pounds

http://www.mikestackleshop.co.uk/sizes.htm

found this for anyone whos wanting to know

i would have thought it was better to judge fish by weight instead of length i mean what happens if you catch a skinny looking cod youd have to make up the difference with extra chips

Has anyone been to the coast today? (wed) was thinking about taking a spinning rod down after night shift friday but never wanted a wasted trip if the sea is still up.

\"Questions, questions\"............that\'s what we\'re all about, Brian (well THAT and ANSWERS aswell......lol)

Fish sizes........yes size DOES matter and varies from species to species (as well as from boat or shore)....take a look here.....

Edible crab as bait.........the subject of many a post on NESA over the years.......basically it all depends on where you live as to the legality of collecting / using edibles.

How far up river........?.........I haven\'t got a clue, m8. But I\'m sure somebody will be able to put you wise on THAT one.
