There will be no mackerel left for anyone else
A man after me own heart lol throw everything into it ..... Superb Bert , absolute class, and well made 10/10
looking great bert, I seen one of these on geordie dicksons artillerty man 3
many moons ago,are you rigging a couple of upright rollers inbetween the two main ones to feed the line through so it rips out the hooks and makkies will drop into boxes below?
Well we will see if it does what its supposed to do ! ive knocked a trace up with 25 hooks on (not the usual daylites tho) been playing about with new materials and white shrink tube ! we will see how it goes !
Mag53 so you went to Cleadon Park and fishe with me dad ,,,,,,,err my memory aint what it used to be, i was a canny fisherman in them days when there was plenty bigguns about
This contraption has caused me some sleepless nights so it better be worth it otherwise its going sperrrrlash !
I forgot to mention its a Belt Gurdy which basically means that the mackerel lures on the string get sandwiched between a layer of plastic as you reel them onto the reel ,this stops them from hooking onto each other when you let them back out for another trip down ,it also has a locking device that enables you to set it at a certain depth without it free spooling to the bottom which other gurdys don't have ,its just a bait catcher because ower in-house bait catcher is getting on a bit now and has got the taste for cod now (he recons )
Ive got a few types of trace tied up and recon that a 3lb weight should keep everything in order with 25 hook ,so we will see soon enough if its a grafter or not ,,,,,,,even tied up some cod traces for "MANIC" when the time is right
I'm probably the man for the job Norman, the skipper and first mate are not the physical type, more control alt deleters
Do the maths, 30 hooks, drop down 10 times.
No deck space for boxes, and dont mention stopping at the ice station on the way out at 4. 30 am pmsl.
