Decided to brave the weather on Friday (only day I could get out), as a day fishing is better than a day watching TV.
Bait used: Peeler crab, Bluey, Mackerel, Mussel, Ragworm, Lugworm and Squid.
Arrived at Roker Pier to find it open at 5.30am
but saw some small waves coming over and decided not to risk it and went to the Rat House instead.
The wind was horrendous as was the pelting rain. I persisted, but the bait was being stripped as the knocks were undetectable with the strong gusts.
After around 3 hours I scaled my rod and tackle down and used a circle hook with just rag and a 2oz weight about 4ft-10ft from the edge. I ended up with 1 Rockling and 4 Coley all fish were placed back.
Unfortunately there a no pictures, due to the weather my mobile became a big soggy non responsive piece of wet plastic that I have only just managed to get working again.
