Fished the above for a couple of hours tonight.Not a sniff of a fish for me, but a I gave two young lads next to me some fresh lug and first cast one of them reeled in a codling of 1lb 12oz. Not only did it christen his new rod, but also his PB codling! Really pleased for him, well done young 'un.

Sod's law that mate.i was down there last month caught two toddlers when a guy using a pink spinning ros pulls out a 2lb cod using mackie strip. And there's me with all the gear and no idea using about £30 worth of bait which was probably more than his rods worth. Just shows right place ,right time!!!
Was down there on Saturday night and had a great session catching whiteys. No cod for me but a guy called Peter who was beside me and Mickey Quayle managed to pull out 9 codling - 2 around the 4lb mark plus some nice whiteys. He was obviously casting in the right spot and was using fresh lug. Didn't see any other codling being caught. Good to meet you Mickey and a pleasure to talk to you. Also met another guy off the forum from Penshaw - kept each other company while the usual group of numpties with the fire, cans and laser light (shining in to the flats) were giving us real fishermen a bad name. One reason why I don't go there very often. All the best to everyone for 2014 - tight lines.

Hi Matty - that was me, nick. Canny little session fishing wise, like you say the numpties spoilt it a little. When back down today with me dad and had few more out and took a couple for the pan!
