After a bit of advice lads please. Where is the closest place to north east with best chance of catching some sort of ray? Also what tactics is best to use rigs and hook size really? Never had 1 b4 be good to get 1 so any help much appreciated
I dont fish for them myself so wont offer tactics but Horden always seems to do well for rays, especially last year. Was on the Heugh today lad said he had some rays.
Said he had a doggy aswell off the Heugh recently. Got a couple of flatties and couple baby cod today myself but rest of the pier nothing, about 8 people fishing....thats me done till summer now.
CodCatcher3000 fishes for rays down Horden no doubt he will reply with a bit of advice soon.
Don't know venue for u as not familar with those parts, but rig wise go for a pulley dropper with a single 2/0 or 3/0(pennels seem to deep hook e'm)or an up n over,a long pulley works well too.Best to use a long hook snood as the rays don't like the feel of the graps on your sinker(long snood gives movement n keeps hook snood away from the lead).
Hope this helps u,ps bait wise try sum bluey, works wonders for e'm
