Razorfish

Can anyone answer this question for me;

Do razorfish just live on the beaches on the south/southwest coast or can they be found on the northeast beaches?

I know I've seen the shells several times on local beaches but this could just be off anglers, it doesn't necessarily say they live on our beaches.

Cheers

Im not too sure, but i have been told thats there is a razorfish bed in between blyth pier and cambois pier, maybe some1 can correct me? lol:D

razorfish live and thrive on our beaches m8,there are several different spieces of razorfish in the uk ,some with straight shells ,some with curved shells,the most common are horse razor fish and typically grow to about 8 inched max lenth,4-5 more common...lots of places hold theese but they are normaly out to sea,it is possible to collect them at low tide with a salt soloution,there holes are keyhole shaped and when pressed on with your boot squirt a little jet of water up..easier is to wait until after a gale and collect them washed up on the high tide line in there thousands..get there quick though as the gulls love em.best beach for this round here is horden after a big southerly gale

When i used to dig runny down at Hartlepool as a lad i often dug up razer . At that time i did not see it used as a bait (mind there was loads of runny and rag).I personally never used it then.
