first time fishing on a boat tomorrow well were going for mackrel for the pots and hope a few codling will turn up aswel but was wondering will a slosh20 be ok for of the yellow bouy area?

It should be fine for light inshore fishing but is not winch for hauling the bigger fish up. If it's the St Mary's yellow can you'll only be fishing in about 60ft of water so no need for miles of line; you will be able to use mono instead of braid without too much toruble unless the drift is fast.
