anyone know if reelsport in shields do services on 525 mag,.. sounds like a bag of hammers because the magnets fell out and i tightened the spool right up and used it like that, now i think iv done the bearings in. or is it a easy job? just dont fancy breaking it anymore

I know for a fact that hebburn reelsport service reels. I was in a few weeks ago and a guy getting served asked if they would service his reel, they said yes so he went and got it out the car and handed it over, i think they said it would be ready in a few days.

'Reely' good service!

Yes if you take any reel to Reelsport you will get it serviced.

Geordie Cooper is the man who services them and he does one hell of a job, both servicing reels and fixing them.

Cost £10 for a full service a think, but its well worth it for the cracking job he does.

Always wondered like, what gets done in a reel service.

Reel is taken apart, all parts stripped down and cleaned (and replaced if necessary). Then moving parts (bearings, spindle, spool rims) are lubricated and re-fitted. The whole reel is then put back together and given a good clean afterward with a cloth.

These little things remove all dirt and debri from the reel, and make the reel faster and if in very good condition, looking like brand new. :)

Cheers mate, now I realise why I just can't get any distance.
Yep, it's a good thing keeping yer reel in tip top con.
