Been looking around at reviews of different reels (xmas approaching) what's the lad's using on this part of the coast? opinions seem to be so conflicting as to what is suitable - no winding power, too fast, prone to overruns, too slow, weak pinion gears... the list goes on! I'm currently using a pair of slosh 30's and looking for something more suitable for clean/mixed ground from the beaches as opposed to my usual rock tackle.

Price wise i reckon it could possibly be the slosh 20's, my 30's are yet to let me down. £69 and you can' go wrong - £115 for a supermag seems a little excessive for something to spend it's life on a beach or in a tackle box.

Had looked at them and they seem a solid reel and they are magnetic (all for £60), only thing that put's me off is they haven't been around very long and I wonder whether they will stand the test of time.

i was looking at buying the okuma last weekend but finally bought a slosh20. the tiny spool size on the okuma put me off a bit.might still buy the larger version though. has anyone got/tried one ??

Funnily enough Marc the article in Sea Angler said exactly what you just said...

I have the size 30 mate...seems reliable enough and when I dropped it on the sea on friday last week I was able to take the side plate off easily enough and clean it out ;):D...large line capacity and HUGE power handle

I'm not an expert on multis yet so can't really comment too much about casting performance in relation to other reels out there

I love my 535 mag. It's getting a bit tatty after 4 years, but has never let me down. I know a few withthe magnitex reels and they swear by them and at that price you can't go wrong.

i've used one for 9 months now and its a cracking reel!! lads who have got more experiance with multy than my have comented that the mag brakes are the best the've ever used!

:D ive used a magnetix 20 since they first came out its my no 1 reel for clean beaches ive read the reports and let me tell you those who say you cant get enough line on the 20 must be putting 30lb on as i use 15-18lb line and theres plenty left on spool after cast. its a dream to fish with quiet when you cast it and the power handle makes all the difference all in all a terrific reel and a lot of reel for the money.

5 year guarantee!!! the manufacturer must be confident!!! abu's have been around year's and I'd bet they wouldn't give that kind of assurance, think I'm gonna ask for the okuma magnetix. Thanks lads.
