removing fluoro tape

Hi,lads anyone know how to get the glue off the tip
of the rod once youve removed the tape,ive got an old
conoflex im cleaning up bloody thumbs killin off peeling
it off any ideas appreciated thanks.

try heating the old glue with a lighter turning the rod at the same time and use a dry cloth to wipe clean

i use a product called gumsolv which comes in an aeresol can and dissolves glue a treat. stinks like buggery though.

Have you tried methylated spirit as this should be safe on the rod.

I would agree with keegy, either that or Turpentine, that won't hurt anything either. Just apply a small amount to a cloth and gently remove it, then dry with a different cloth. Best done outside for H & S reasons and not while having a tab lol.
