Just got back from a week in Perthshire and my first proper goes on a river. Fished 3 days on the Upper Tummel between Loch Rannoch and Tummel Bridge and had half a day on an artificial puddle 10 mins from Tummel Bridge on the Aberfeldy road. Got BOT ALL. Really enjoyed it though and feel like I\'ve learned loads. Very challenging, the yomping to a decent spot, coping with wading in moving, wild water, schitzzo Scottish weather, fly eating trees and big ginger highland coos staring you out. The lad in the tackle shop at Pitlochry was very helpful and appears to be opening regularly. I was amazed at the lack of other anglers I encountered (0) although there were quite a few on the lower salmon beats today when we left.
