Alright chaps, this is my first post so apologies if it's in the wrong place.

I'm returning to sea fishing after a few years away. I'm heading down to the tyne near Pottery Bank this Sunday with my son. Prob fishing a couple of hours before and after low water.

I'd appreciate any advice - long/short casts, baits etc.

Cheers

Ive had fish from Smiths dock which may be closed now but it would give up codling now and a gain ,had loads of whiting at royal quays.Apparently the walkway at south shields has been fishing really well according to this site.Biggest problem Ive had with the river in general is snags, some spots can ruin you every cast.....move on til it stops
