Fellas,

Does anybody know how the river is fishing at spillers quay and st Peter's basin,
Also what fish are being caught.

Thanks
Troutman

There's hoards of tiny Codling (16cm - 20cm) in the Tyne at the minute but I have heard of one or two better fish. The proper fish could arrive at any time so I'd give it a go.

I gather your after some info for next weeks Civil Service final, well for once Codman is telling no porkies. I fished with him last week on one of the zones and there were lots of micro codling. The main run of codling and whiting have not arrived yet but they could do at any time (just like last year when we fished the inter-regional at St Peters).
I didn't qualify for this years final but I'm fishing next Wednesday morning to see if the cod have arrived, so all you need to do is buy me a couple of pints and I'll spill the beans ( but don't tell Codman)

Cheers

Dave

I fished further up the river at Dunston staithes today using rag and bluey plenty of small Yting and a few nice size flounders which kept me busy for the two and a half hours I fished

Fished the Tyne today and all of the small codling have disappeared. I caught 2 small whiting using sprouts. Crab baits were useless.
