Fished the mouth of the Wansbeck from about 5pm til 8pm. Caught 16 flatties the biggest just touched 2lb and about half were of size. Thought I had hooked into a bass at one point when my line went slack but it turned out to be a greedy sea trout of about 1lb 1/2. A lad was fishing further along onto the beach for bass but no luck. He said he had been having some luck on the fly for them but it was a bit too windy today. Must be nice. Anyway it was a pleasant change from the busy piers and the weather stayed fine. I think i will try for the bass when there is a bit of sea on. Bait used was long thin strips of macky silver on long 2 hook 1 up 1 down with plenty beads. Sorry no pics this time left phone in car and couldnt be bothered to walk the 50 yards to get it lol. All fish returned unharmed.
