river wear still fishing well

Slightly late report.

Given the poor sea conditions early new year i still used a bit of time up for some sport by fishing further up the river wear for flounder using the yuki taylor Q5 - a great rod for this style of fishing.

some big fish showing at the minute - fished 2 days in a row 01/01/14 and 02/01/14, both for last 3 hours of the flood.

01/01/14 - 12 fish, biggest 40cm
02/01/14 - 7 fish, biggest again 40cm

Hi mate. This was claxheugh rock but most of the stretch is fishing well at the minute, especially from timber beach right up through south Hylton.

the steps at the boat house (claxheugh) is a canny spot,
I always have a canny sesh for flattys there
