Rod conditions

Had a look at a few rods this week peoples idea of mint condition and vgc is not mine I bet if they were buying rather than selling they would say the same. It's a waste of time and money and really annoying.

I turned up for a rod once and was in good condition but not perfect as described, negotiated knock down but it is annoying.
I think a lot of lads on this forum are obsessed with the latest model/mark and it's silly. Some of the newer marks arnt as good as the old ones anyway.

Still no excuse for selling average gear when described perfect

only bought 1 rod from the site, offered in mint condition, and it was.

he live's in blyth, so didn't travel at all.

Just the risk you take on the forum that's why NESA can't be responsible for sales.
If you get a bad rep for selling ****e gear your never gonna sell out....look at Scotty and got banned aswell as nobody buying his stolen/damaged goods

Yea bought some gear of here and all as described the rods I looked at we're not on here.

Ask for photos, make your own mind up before commiting to the drive mate. Not 100% accurate but better than going off another's opinion

what i ask when buying second hand is , give it marks out of 10 , mint should mean as new , but as you say some people say mint and they look as though they have been dragged along the beach , makes my blood boil

Totally understand descriptions not being accurate when buying/selling rods but if it bothers you that much buy new. As said one mans mint con is another mans good con. At the end of the day they're tools designed for a purpose but some people seem to **** over their gear instead of use it. Pointless.

makes no difference what you buying the rod for , if selling it on it should be described the condition its in ,mint in my book allways meant as new

well you have,trebow mint,murray mint,polo mint,extra strong mint,all mints but different.understand where your coming from pighunter.as you know ive not long sold a rod,didint say it was in mint condition but the lad was happy to buy it.like most rods sold anywhere,most of the time your buying because of the name imo.anyway rant over,good luck in your rod search.

Agree mate I hammer certain rods I have but I have other rods I enjoy casting. In the winter I could be out 7 nights a week if the sea is right. My problem is if they were buying a rod not selling it would there standards be the same? I don't think so.
