Rod refurbishment-know anyone who still does this lads?

Hi all

Been off the shore fishing of late, as was posted up to Kinloss and did more kayak fishing/trout fishing but on a mission to get back into it big time. However, my fave rod needs a total refurb, does anyone know who still does this please? Got a few rods, but want to use a rod my Grandad bought me second hand over 20 years ago, gorgeous action still, just has 'Temples of Whitley bay' on it, Fuji throughout. Sentimental, yes but I'm getting older! Does anyone know someone....I'm looking for a perfectionist !

Hi mate, my personal choice would be Stan Parkin who lives in Gateshead.There are others north of the Tyne and Endurothumpers is very good as well. Think he lives Ashington

i know fishfingers is very highly thought of for his rod work, but if this falls through i know a lad in Blyth who is very good, done lots of work for me. Billy Steel, he's not on here but work's in a tackle shop and repairs/rebuilds loads. good luck.

Thanks Davey73, and all, got in comms with Fishfingers and January looking good for the rod refurb; many thanks to all on this. Fishing trip coming up next few weeks so I'll post all photos (of crabs, hooks in my thumb, 525 buried in a ball of line and empty sinker rack if my previous attempts are anything to go by ha ha ha!)
