Got there about half 5 and their mist if been 100 people fishing managed to find my self a spot just last the last steps fishing sea side. Fished for a few hours and not a bite so decided to pack up and come home as their were more and more people turning up all the time plus the fishing was crap. Seen one flatty come in the whole time I was there. Very poor indeed

Got a line in the water for about 4pm about 150 yards back from the bunker seward sde, the place was packed and more arriving by the minute. Seen 1 fish landed (a coley) 20yards up from me. Didn't get a bite so at 6.30 moved inshore to the bay side. Same story and finally give it up at 8pm. The pier was absolutely heaving and with better illuminations than along the seafront. The only decent fish i seen was battered and in chip shop paper surrounded with chips, the lad obviousley brought his tea with him. Tight Lines

So it wasn't just me having no luck

From the looks of things nobody had a good session, unless it picked up later on and I would have thought with all that gear out in the water, practically the full length of the pier, a few fish would have showed. Thats fishing !!!!

Just before I packed up (sat)night I heard "a codling" was caught just up from the barrier however size I don't know but if their were that many lines out and that was the only report then my choice to depart and head for the pub was the right choice :-)

13 or 14lber caught there on Friday night, hence the crowds. Fancied it myself last night but knew it would be busy so went on shields pier instead - one 25cm flounder in 3 hours!

fished it this morning from 7:30 am till 12:30 pm caught one tinny wincey weeny coaly :)
ended up packing up and going home, hope the guy I gave my lugworm, maki and squid to had better luck than me.
fish from the bunker, my mates did pull in flattys but that was it
