Roker Flatties

Fished Roker from 2:30 til 5:30 on Friday. Fished near the end using blow lug on a 2 hook flapper. Seems to be plenty of flatties around, ended up with 9 fish in total, 1 small Plaice, 1 Dab, 6 Flounders and 1 Tommy Codling. I was hoping for a decent Plaice and I got a Plaice but it wasnt a keeper.
Some good sport with the Flounders, they were not very big but thick and put up a good fight, the warmer water must be livening them up or something.
I did not see many other fish coming out but I think other people were using Mackerel as bait and the flatties wanted lug.
Nice day to be out with plenty of sun.
There were a couple of people after Mackerel but I did not see any caught.

Went past the pier today (Saturday) around 3 ish and it was totally deserted even though the gate was open (Bit wet though !)

Sounds a lot more fun than my Friday sat in the office looking out of the window at the sunshine...

As for today, I've got half a pound of ragworm and a few crab in the fridge but looking out of the window at the torrential rain falling in Durham I think I'll crack open a bottle of red and see if the sun is out tomorrow morning
