Got down to the round head on Roker pier for about 9.30,and had the whole pier to myself for about half an hour.Set up 2 rods one with a big black lug sausage and the other rod with a two hook flapper with rag and mackerel.Right from the off had fish but all small flatties, flounders mainly but did get a plaice. All the flatties went back into the drink only for a couple of cormorants to swallow them up.At about 12.00 the whites started to bite and I ended up keeping 3 decent fish all about the 1lb mark and throwing about half a dozen back for the birds. Those cormorant are cheeky buggers ,when I was reeling the fish in the birds were chasing them under water and half way up the is of the pier.Got to about 2.00 and the fish just stopped biting so I moved to the glass centre for an hour but only had a couple of tiny bites.Again I saw a few porpoises about 100 yards off the end of the pier, with one of them just circling one spot for about half an hour. Some good craic with a couple of lads from the Alberta fishing club who were fishing a club match.Very enjoyable session and no blank too!!!
