Roker Pier 3/10

Had a short session on Roker Pier last night, just a couple of hours after work for the last of the flood.

Fished in between the two sets of steps casting seawards. Bait was rag and mussel.

Had bites pretty much all session but couldn't connect with anything until last cast I had an unmissable bite and connected with a heavy and hard fighting fish.

Hoped it was my first sizeable cod but turned out to be a cracking Pollock which bottomed out the kitchen scales (4 1/2lb limit) when I got it home.

Thanks to the good lad one up from me who handballed it up for me.

Will post pic if I can work out how to transfer it from my phone.

cracking pollock for this time of year m8 well done looking forward to the pics. they put up a great fight even better on really light gear

Cracking pollack there mate, well done. I had one 2lb 11oz off shields pier a couple of weeks back but it wasn't as big as yours. There's a few about at the moment. Nice one.

Thats it mate, your mate kept me right on the pier as I hadn't been there before. Also handballed it up for me. Good lad. Is he on here ?

Put up a bit of a tussle like, fishing braid. Is it typical for stamp Pollock to show this time of year? or any time of year? Only caught smaller fish up to say 1 1/2lb before float fishing or spinning. SSP, Whitby Pier and MOG.
