Roker pier 30/05 /14 and 01/06/15

No two days are the same!

Fished roker pier on the Friday 10:30- 6:30. Fished with ragworm for the first few hours but nothing really doing. Changed to mackerel and mussel and ended up catching about 40 fish. All small stuff, mainly dabs and coalies but did manage a nice codling about 14inches on double mussel and mackerel strip lashed to the side. The last hour was a dab a cast with bites following shortly after the bait had hit the bottom.

Tried the same this morning (8:30-12:30) and caught one tommy and a palm sized flounder. Oh well!

Hi mate I fished roker pier on Friday and caught dabs,1 good sized flounder and a coddling about 2lb, I think I fished next to you on the pier I was the guy in the wheelchair. All in all nice wether and good sport. I used crab rag and bluey.

Cheers for the bluey mate. I thought I might have fished next to you when I was reading a post about roker pier earlier. I think it'll be shields pier for the rest of the summer shortly

Hi James I really enjoyed the sport on Friday on Roker pier and my coddling tasted fab. Like you said it will be shields pier for summer sport this year it's going to be mayhem with Sunderland and Seaham pier closed this year. Well done with your coddling mate it must have been a nice break from all those dabs you where getting mate. Nice meeting you James I will see you on shields pier in the summer. Regards Karl.C
