loads of folks out today didnt catch out tide was rather strong ish ....load of people on feathers spinner floats.....saw few coalies caught on floats some sandeels foul hooked on feathers....heard there was a mackerel caught all day ....hope they`re back there for wedenesday as i am too cheap to buy my omega 3 oil and i`ll get them from some fresh mackerel...like i did last week

will be perfectly honest pal ...i did not join this year as i found that my favourite spot was the spiles...which did not require a key before and when i had the key i would still just fish the spiles. . on the north pier last year was loads of people who just snuck in climbed over or went thru with one member. so basically i paid my fees just to pay fees, there were loads of young uns and also nuggets on last year littering the place with thier beer cans and litter etc ...none of them were paying members...not to mention keeping undersized fish...undersized lobsters berried lobsterss and none of them had permits.bla bla bla . this year on the other hand it seems that the place is rather well guarded. may be a small regret that i did not renew my membership as due to recent works by the seaham harbour dock company the place seems to be constantly locked. i did have a good moan to the comittee last year about non members using the pier. i would now be a hypocrite if i now used the pier without being a member..i did benefit from joining the club tho ...gots loads of tips although it was always conflicting with one another.....made some good friends ....i might renew next year if they keep the place open to only members...it would be silly that one would pay fees and others dont and get the same privilige........i do not object to piers charging a minimal amount so they would be able to employ a marshal to ensure minimum littering and simple adhering to the law and minimum size catches,,,maybe even something small such a 80p per person perday or an annual fee if they are very regular ....to those who object well...to each their own i guess

Fished Roker from 8am-11.am this morning only saw 1 get caught, lads had been on since 4am and said only 6 had been caught, sea was very cloudy.

was out on wednesday as well.....sweet nothing bar a coalie.........what a waste of time ....not even green crabs in my lobster pots......boring.....my theory as all the mackerel i caught last week were full of eggs and the rain scared them mommies so they went far far away to spawn and they will come back to the pier sometime mid july

well all week ive had at least 30/day from one of the peirs in hartlepool (not steetly)wont entertain it the lads that know me will know ehich one but i aint sayin :D lol
and another thing most of you probally wont of noticed its been fishing a hell of a damn site better over low water too best for a good few years thats for sure my season tally at the moment is 173 mackerill all of them returned except from 20 wich are for bait and the table

Not many macky in at the min but like ya say they will be back. lol :D
but at least ya getting a bit sport off the coalies.

spoke to a mate in the office...apparent bout 3 miles out there is quite a bit of brackish water and the mackerel are stuck on the wrong side of it as well....so he reckons it will be a couple of weeks before it arrives in numbers.....probably right on time for back end of july
