Fished from 11pm sat till 3am no luck thought I was going to blank then wam straight hooked a good size codling 2 pound . Ten mins later yet another big bite thought it was a another codling becouse it had a beard but a few lads walking of the pier told me it was a pout so over all got my first cod of the season and cought my first pout . Bait used runydown and mackerel strip

Canny little session you had there mate, I'm still waiting to get my first shore caught pouting had a few from boats before like. Where on the pier were you fishing?
