Unfortunately Davey that means nothing as I've found from bitter experience. Two of the last three times I've been over to fish Roker on a Sunday the pier has been shut despite the sea being flat calm. No point ringing resort services office either as all you get is an answer machine. Seems to me once it gets shut over a weekend it just gets left until the Resorts staff come back on on a Monday who then go down and open it up.

Only way to know for sure if it is open is if someone has been down there and can let you know or by rocking up and finding out for yourself.
