Picture taken from Sandhaven each (s/shields) looking across towards the piers. You can see the waves coming over Tynemouth pier inthe background.

What time did you take the photo, Mick?

I drove down Beach Road on my way home last night (Friday) at about 4:30 (just after H/W) and the whole length of the North pier was awash with waves breaking over its entire length.

Looking at how far the sea\'s come up the beach, you must\'ve been there around H/W aswell........it was a big tide today.

TC, It was taken approx 4.30pm ish. Taken from the car park at the Water\'s Edge pub (or whatever that pub\'s called now).

I was fishing north shields fish quay and the River Tyne was almost impossible to fish with the current. Fished 5 hours only managed one fish.
