Quick question lads, Do you use braid? if so do you use a Rub Leader? I do but have never found a knot i'm happy with for connecting the two so i ended up tying a small swivel to the braid and then coming off there with my rub leader. But im still not happy with the knot as i lost a couple of good fish this year. So what knots do you all use?

Hmmm i used to use a Albright knot but found the braid cut through the Rub Leader, maybe i wasn't tying it right, i'll give it another go. Cheers lads

You could try a reversed albright Phil, bottom of page on this link -

Power Pro Braided Spectra @ the Power Pro Superstore

With that one, the leader wraps round the braid, so may help with cutting. Or, you could use fluorocarbon for your leader....won`t get cut as easily by the braid, and a good leader choice anyway due to it`s abrasion resistance ;)

stick with tiny swivel and 3 to 4feet of 25lb fluorocarbon and you will not go wrong never failed me yet when i have had to give a bass some stick to avoid it swimming into a snag!:D

I use a improved albright or Yucatan. If your having problems with the improved Albright cutting through flouro try the Yucatan as it works opposite.

yucatan knot fellas, simple to tie in the dark with cold hands and minimal lighting and super strong.....whatever knot you decide to use just remember to double your braid.
